August was the first down month for the S&P 500 Index since February. Given that the market has managed a gain every month since and even including March, the month that Silicon Valley Bank collapsed at warp speed, it was perhaps due a well-earned summer break to rest up before a further push higher as the days shorten.

Julian Wheeler has been involved in Financial Markets since 1986. His career has included almost all the roles available in equities investment: Derivatives Broker, Fund Manager, Prop Book Trader, Analyst in a range of Banks, Hedge Funds and Family Offices. Starting in the 1990s for the last 30 years he has been focused almost entirely on the US stock market. As a co-founder of a Global Equity Fund in 2006, Julian was one of the Partners responsible for the marketing and investor presentations in Australia and New Zealand successfully raising the seed capital. He has also pursued successful roles in PR and owns a small wine business.
